3 Tips to Keep you on Track in 2016

The new year is the best and most motivating time to get yourself started on your fitness goals. Even if it's something you've tried before in the past & gave up on, just try again. This may just be the year you stick with it! Here are 3 tips to help keep you motivated & on track.

1. Pick a Plan

Sure you can sign up for a gym membership or promise yourself you will actually use your gym membership this year, but there's something more distinct & promising about a plan. There are so many workout programs at your fingertips - including my 12-week Fitness & Nutrition Guide, but find what motivates & excites you & invest a little money into it. Having an actual workout written out & waiting for you has proven to be much more effective when it comes to results & consistency. 

2. Don't Expect to be Perfect

The biggest mistake people make when setting fitness-related goals is expecting too much from themselves too soon. When you set a goal that is unattainable, it basically sets you up for failure. Set small goals & increase them as you go. For example, start with working out 3 days/week for one month, then 4 days/week the second month, 5 days/week the third month & finally get to 6 days/week in your fourth month. Taking steps like this will guarantee that you won't be pushing yourself into failure. And when you do skip a workout you had planned, or eat poorly, don't dwell on it. We all make mistakes & splurge a bit, move forward from it right away & get back on track. Don't beat yourself up over it! 

3. Progress Photos

Just like the above photo with the progress photos from ladies who have done my 12-week program, you too can have photos that encourage you along the way. When you see yourself in the mirror every single day, it's easy to miss the small, positive changes your body is making. But when you have photos, you are able to see the progress you are making! A sports bra, shorts, front & side mirror selfie are all you need. You don't ever need to show anyone else if you don't want to, but keep these photos for yourself!

I hope these tips will help you reach your 2016 goals - and remember, these changes are for YOU - for your health & happiness. Don't do it for anyone else but yourself! <3
