How Much Money Do I Make as a Virtual Assistant?

One of the BEST things about being a Virtual Assistant is that there are multiple ways of acquiring income! You can have per-hour work, per-project work or retainer (monthly fees) work. OR my personal favorite - a combination of all three! 

Here’s the breakdown: 

Retainer Rates: 

I have a monthly minimum for ALL of my clients. In order for them to sign with me, they have to pay a flat rate on the first of the month. This can be any minimum you would like to set. I recommend starting at $200/month and increasing your minimum as you progress in your business.

Retainer Rates: 

I have a monthly minimum for ALL of my clients. In order for them to sign with me, they have to pay a flat rate on the first of the month. This holds a certain amount of work for the month. Some of this is based on a general hourly rate, but others are based on the type of work (for example: 2 blog posts created for X amount $).

 Hourly: 

If my clients go OVER the amount of hours or work they paid for up front, they get billed a separate invoice at the end of the month with my hourly rate for the amount of hours they used.

Project: 

This is the game-changer. This is how I am able to create a substantial income without increasing my hours too much! For me - this is email marketing setups & course launch campaigns! Those are my specialties.

My Current Monthly Retainers: $5200

Extra hours billed in January: 21 = $350

Project Based Income (email marketing & course launch strategy projects): $1000

Affiliate Income (sharing links for products or platforms I recommend): $400

Total: $6950

Monthly Expenses (platforms I use for organization, communication, invoicing, etc): $325

Profit: $6625

I can do more projects some months, or hang back others. I can also push my course sales more or have down months with that. It is so important to understand & acknowledge that the growth and potential here is truly unlimited & it is SO good to establish multiple revenue streams are your business grows.
