3 Steps to Make Passive Income with an Online Course
Let me let you in on a little secret…. Creating passive income streams is one of the best ways to scale your business without increasing your hours.
Sounds pretty ideal, right?
But how do you do that? I’m a big believer in creating online courses to generate passive income, but the idea of being a course creator can sound intimidating. So I’ll break it down for you a bit here!
Keep in mind - passive income doesn’t mean you literally do nothing - it just means you get to create a flow of income with minimal upkeep!
Creating an online course can honestly be as easy as 1, 2, 3 😉:
Decide on Your Course Idea: Teach something everyone asks you about (how to make healthy family meals, how to fit in quick workouts, how to get your baby to sleep through the night, etc). Everyone's an expert at something. What is that thing for you? (Hint: if you need more course ideas, I shared 10 ideas here!)
Pick a Platform: Kajabi is my personal favorite. You can host your course, create email funnels, and design landing and sales pages -- all in one place. Use my code for a free trial and check it out for yourself!
Market Your Course & Create Automations: Social media is the best way to generate interest in your course. And it’s free! You likely already have a built-in network of followers who know and trust you (no matter how small your community is, each person matters!), so use that to your advantage.
Provide free, valuable content through your social posts, and create a freebie so people will sign up for your email list. Once they’re on your list, an automated email sequence (that you can set up in Kajabi!) will continue to nurture the relationship and eventually sell your course.
Pro tip: Be sure to talk about your freebie and the course itself regularly and casually on your stories and in posts to remind your followers that it’s there! Incorporating testimonials is always a good idea too. Nothing sells a course quite like a genuine review from someone who has taken and loved it!
