That Time I Made $100K from Online Course Sales

Does it feel like online courses are popping up everywhere lately? With more people working remotely and social media influencers getting bigger every day, the “average” person is starting to see how a more flexible lifestyle might truly be possible. But moving from hourly work to passive income that actually pays your bills can feel like a big jump.

You can learn more about my story in making that jump here, but here’s the quick version of it.

I didn’t start making real money until I went all in, invested in an online training course, and actually believed that success was possible for me.

Now I’m a course creator myself (even though I swore I'd never create an online course 😆 more on that another time) and those courses as passive income have helped me bridge the gap to a 6-figure income on part time hours (I just hit over $100K in course sales alone!). Don’t get me wrong - it took a lot of hustle to get here (I got that from my mama), but creating passive income streams through my online courses allows me to take on just a select few clients. And that ultimately means more time with my littles!

Creating an online course will absolutely crush the income limitations you are currently experiencing, but how do you start?

  1. Brainstorm what you can offer: Everyone can teach something. Pro Tip: you don’t have to know everything to teach a course. You just have to get your customer from A>B! If you’re feeling stuck here, be sure to check out this blog post with 10+ ideas for courses you can create as a mom. The possibilities are honestly endless.

  2. Research people who have “made it” and learn from them: Do a little IG stalking and find people who are where you want to be. Social media can easily become a highlight reel. When you’re ready to invest in an online course to get you to the next level, make damn sure that you’re learning from an expert. Dig in to their free content, subscribe to their email list, read and listen to their testimonials, and engage with them on social to figure out if they’re the real deal.

  3. Believe in yourself and just START: It’s easy to keep making excuses for why you haven’t started yet. There will always be a reason not to - believe me, I get it! It’s up to you to start leaning into the yes and believing you have the time, resources, and skills to create a successful business.

My passion for helping women start their own businesses turned into a course which led to two (now three!) more courses. These courses have helped me scale my business and create more passive income streams (which are so important in growing your biz!).

And, more importantly, I’d like to think I've made an impact. I get messages all the time from women who have taken my courses and created a side hustle that allows their family to go on vacations. Or they’re now making enough money to quit their 9-5 and stay home with their kids. THAT is the “why” behind everything I do!

Here are a  few of my favorite testimonials:

These are real women who decided that their yes was stronger than their no, and took the leap to starting their own business.

You CAN make income (even passive income!) from home. Starting your own business is within your reach. It’s time to get out of your own way and do the damn thing.

If you’re looking to become a Virtual Assistant, your next step is my VA Bootcamp. If you’re ready to build your own course, then Online Course School is your jam. And if you’re still feeling hesitant, drop me an email and let me be your cheerleader!
