Top Productivity Hacks for the WFHM
If you’re a work from home mama like me, you’re always striving to find that balance and to schedule in work between naps, snacks, and snuggles. We are fortunate enough to be able to send my daughter to preschool part time (which she LOVES!), but there were also many days where I worked only when she was napping or in bed. Being productive with your limited time is KEY in making your business a success (and staying sane!).
Personally, I have been trying to fine tune my routine to reach a higher quality of productivity. I used to think multitasking and trying extra hard to cross multiple things off my list at once was the "most productive" - but I've realized it doesn't really work that way.
Here are some of my top productivity hacks that have helped increase productivity and decrease stress:
➡️ Edit your Do Not Disturb settings: Ensure the important people can get through to you (your spouse, your child’s preschool, etc.), and let the rest wait. Minimizing distractions from texts, DMs, and IG scrolling has been a game changer for me when I’m in work mode.
➡️ Time Block: I literally schedule out every hour of my work day in my planner and it feels SO good. When I write down "Work on Client Design" from 9:30-12:00, I WILL actually set aside distractions and focus on just that. I'm getting better at being focused on the task in front of me and being present, rather than jumping around (which I used to do SO much). I even block out time to be on Instagram (once in the AM & once in the PM).
➡️ Get To Do vs. Have To Do: I'm rewiring my mentality around my to do lists and recognizing them as something I GET to do. I love my business and I want to continually remind myself how lucky I am to do what I do on the reg.
➡️ REST: As I’ve learned more about my Human Design (being coached by Christina Rice), I am realizing that I need more time to just BE. This is hard for me, and something I am working on every day! I love my client Kim’s Mindful Mama meditations to help me start my day (and you can use my link for $10 off your purchase).
