Using Pinterest for Your Business
So you’ve launched your business - yay! You’ve got your shiny new website, on-brand posts on your social pages, and maybe even an email list (another huge topic for another time!). But what about Pinterest? If you haven’t taken a second look at this marketing tool yet, I’m betting you will after you read this.
Here are some benefits I’ve found for strategically using Pinterest in my business:
Your content has a longer life. You work hard to create valuable content for your followers, but it only has a limited life on platforms like Instagram or Facebook. Instagram stories disappear and static posts are only around for a limited time before something else takes its place on the feed. But with Pinterest, someone can find your content months, even YEARS, after you post it if it’s relevant to their search.
Pinterest users are actually encouraged to leave the platform. You’ve probably heard that Instagram works REALLY hard to keep users on the platform. You can’t put a clickable link in a post and going to a link in your bio is an extra step that can often lose people. Pinterest makes it easy for people to click through and end up on your website or signing up for a freebie.
Driving people to your website is a huge plus for Pinterest. And it’s even better if you can get those people to sign up for your email list, where you’ll then have the opportunity to nurture the lead and open up lines of communication.
You have an active audience. Where it might be easy for someone to scroll past your perfectly branded post on Instagram or Facebook, Pinterest users are often actively searching for something, and are more likely to take action.
I hired a Pinterest Manager in the last year, and I’ve seen traffic to my website increase drastically! Some months it increases over 100% from the month prior! It is all about strategy & consistent content that is trending. It really does “move the needle” when it comes to growing your business. And speaking of Pinterest Managers, if you’re looking to scale your business with a specialty, that’s another niche that’s always growing!
